Look after several buildings? One account, one code per building.
Set up your firm once. Claim each building with the code from its own letter, or be invited by the owner company. Then choose who works on what.

In short
- Each building is claimed with the code from its own letter. Only the person holding that letter can claim it.
- A building always belongs to the owner company, never to the agent. Your firm acts for the company.
- Everything you send is recorded as sent by you, at your firm, for that company. The owner company can see that.
How it works across a portfolio
How do I set up my firm?
Start from any letter: enter its code, sign in with an account that is not already part of another company, and choose “The managing agent”.
Type your firm's name and you become its admin. If the owner company is not yet on Golden Ledger, we set it up from the HM Land Registry title and link the building to it.
Can the owner company add us instead?
Yes.
The company's admin invites you by email from its People page. The invitation lasts 7 days. When you accept, your firm is linked to the company; you keep your own firm's account.
How do I claim more buildings?
Enter the code from each building's own letter.
One letter claims one building, so a code never gives access to the rest of a company's buildings.
How do I move between companies?
Choose the company from the switcher at the top of the menu, or open All my companies.
Acting for an owner
What can my firm do for a company?
Answer the building safety questions and upload documents.
Your firm's admins can also tell us a building is not right for the company, and decide which colleagues work on it.
What are admins and standard users?
An admin acts in every company your firm acts for.
A standard user sees only the companies, and the buildings, an admin gives them.
What does the owner company see?
Every answer and document you send is shown as sent by you, at your firm, for the company.
Its own admins can end the link at any time.
Can either side end the link?
Yes, at once.
To change managing agent, the company ends the old link and invites the new firm.
Does the owner company still have duties?
Yes.
The owner stays responsible for its building under the law; your firm helps it give your council what it asks for.
Your council sees what you send. Any AI reading of your documents runs in Microsoft Azure's UK South region. We never ask for payment or bank details. How we look after your information
Got a letter for one of your buildings?
Enter the code printed on it to claim that building for its owner company. It is free, because the council pays.
