Fire safety is complicated. Your part doesn't have to be.
Golden Ledger brings your building's fire safety information into one clear record. We fill in what official records already show. You confirm it and add what you have, and your council reviews it. It is free for owners.
Who are you?

I own or manage a building
You had a letter about a building you own, or look after for its owner. Claim it, answer the questions and send your documents.

I live in a building
Your council is checking your building. You do not need to do anything. Here are your rights and who to contact.

What to expect
A good fire safety record protects the people inside, and helps protect the building's value.
Building safety law exists so that people are safe in their homes and firefighters have the information they need. The papers your council asks for, such as your fire risk assessment, a fire risk appraisal of the external walls (FRAEW) or an EWS1 form, are often the papers lenders, buyers and insurers ask for too. Put them together once, and they can work for all of them.
Safer homes.
Your residents, and the fire service, can rely on what is known about the building.
Easier to sell, let, insure and mortgage.
A buyer's lender may ask for an EWS1 form before lending on a flat in a building with external walls to assess.
Funding you may not know about.
We show the government routes that may pay for cladding or alarm work.
Eight stages, and your council has done the first two.

Most owners do not pay for cladding work themselves. As you answer, Golden Ledger shows which routes may apply to your building, and who would apply.

Your information goes to your council.
Your council sees every answer and document you send, and reviews each one. We never ask for payment or bank details, and we never ask for your password by letter, email or phone. Documents are read in Microsoft Azure's UK South region. A Microsoft service suggests answers; you confirm each one.
See the buildings in scope in your area, and how far each one has got.
Golden Ledger finds the residential buildings that are higher-risk buildings (Building Safety Act 2022 s.65) or 11 m residential buildings (Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 reg 10). It gives each registered owner a unique code to claim their building, and puts every answer in front of your team to accept or follow up. We do the data work; your team reviews and acts.
Illustrative borough. Each bar is a building drawn to its height. Navy fills it as it moves through the stages. Gold means your council has accepted it.
